3.1 Certificate download and accessing help page

When the download of a certificate is triggered or the help page is opened, thereby accessing our website, a server request is performed. This generates log data in the server.

The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable the transmission of data. For this purpose the user's IP address must remain stored for the duration of the session. The logging takes place in order to ensure the functionality of the service.

The diagnostic function can be activated in the app by the user. Log files are then automatically created and saved within the app for the purpose of helping to diagnose and fix any issues in the functioning of the app (troubleshooting). This data can be viewed in the app.

The data can be deleted in the app by the user. Furthermore, the data is deleted when the memory limit is exceeded or the app is deleted.

The data collected remains with Securepoint and are not passed on to third parties or subcontractors unless they are actively shared by the user using the share function on their device.

3.3 Google Firebase

3.3.2 Description and purpose of data processing

We use the Firebase service of the company Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland).

If the infrastructure becomes overloaded due to attacks, we can remotely disable Cloud Shield via Firebase RemoteConfig to ensure basic network functionality of the device without using the service. At the same time, we use the service to communicate current configuration content to the app.

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to inform the app about potential service interruptions, such as a deleted profile or an expired license.

The app registers with the Firebase service. The Firebase service stores a 'Firebase Installation ID' and a 'Firebase Cloud Messaging Registration Token' to determine which devices should receive configurations or push notifications.

Firebase retains the Firebase installation IDs until the Firebase customer makes an API call to clear the ID. After the call, the data is removed from live and backup systems within 180 days.

The collected data is processed by Securepoint. Furthermore, data is transmitted to Google web resources when the app is used. Google may thereby process your data for its own purposes, over which we have no influence.
